Darwin glass is a natural impact glass found in western Tasmania, Australia, formed by a meteorite impact approximately 816,000 years ago. It consists of silica-rich glass fragments, typically greenish, brownish, or black, created when the intense heat and pressure of the impact melted local rock. It is often found scattered around the Darwin Crater, the presumed impact site, and is of interest to geologists and collectors due to its unique origin and composition.
