Muzo Emeralds are high-quality emerald gemstones from the Muzo mine in Colombia, one of the world's most famous emerald sources. Composed of beryllium aluminum silicate (Be₃Al₂Si₆O₁₈) and colored by trace amounts of chromium and vanadium, they exhibit a deep, vivid green with exceptional saturation and transparency. With a Mohs hardness of 7.5-8, emeralds are durable but often contain natural inclusions known as "jardin." Muzo emeralds are particularly prized for their intense color, high clarity, and historical significance, making them some of the most sought-after emeralds in the world for fine jewelry and investment pieces.

*Non-treated Muzo Emeralds are prized for their authenticity and rich, saturated green color typical of Colombia’s most famous emerald-producing region. These stones have not undergone any clarity enhancement treatments such as oiling or resin filling, meaning they are presented in their natural state. As a result, it's normal and expected for them to exhibit natural fissures, internal fractures, and inclusions—features often described as the emerald's “jardin” (French for garden). These internal features are formed during the natural crystal growth process and are a hallmark of genuine emeralds, especially untreated ones. While such fissures may affect transparency, they are also evidence of the gem’s untreated nature and geological origin. Unlike treated emeralds, where fissures are minimized for visual appeal, untreated Muzo emeralds are valued by collectors and connoisseurs for their purity, rarity, and natural character.
