Sergio Lub Handmade Copper Bracelets | Autumn Wheat
Sergio Lub has been individually handcrafting each bracelet in their Northern California Studios since 1969. Their bracelets are adjustable and designed to be worn continuously, aging gracefully as they last for years.
Many of their bracelets have complex combinations of separate metal pieces. To ensure their designs withstand the stress and strain of constant wear they use silver solder to carefully join the metals together. Soldering several metals together into the same piece of jewelry requires delicate precision, and with practice one learns how to understand the different temperatures of each metal by reading their glow as they are heated with a torch.
About The Company:
Sergio Lub is an American artist of Russian descent, born in Argentina in 1953. Trained as an architect in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Sergio realized his creativity could be more freely expressed as a jewelry designer. With access to an abundance of silver, Sergio’s introduction to copper began when he started adding copper into his work for color.
“That is when I discovered the red metal and how friendly it is. Soon I was a copper fan and it became my primary medium. That was 47 years ago and our love affair is still strong. I feel more at ease and creative working with copper than with any other metal.” - Sergio Lub
Sergio’s son, Nikolas, and daughter Sonia inherited their father’s love for copper, and continue their family tradition of creating jewelry together in their studios in Northern California.
Sergio Lub's Primary Materials Include:
Pure Copper – The red/pink-ish metal found in many of their bracelets
Jewelers’ Brass – The golden metal they use is an alloy (mixture of metals) containing approximately 85% pure copper and 15% zinc, another essential trace mineral for the human body
German Silver – German Silver is the primary white metal used. It is an alloy of 65% pure copper mixed with zinc and nickel

Care & Maintenance
Sergio Lub bracelets are made to be worn at all times, in nearly all places. To keep your bracelet clean we recommend wearing it in the shower, and when necessary using a simple jeweler’s polishing cloth to restore its shine. With minimal care your bracelet should age gracefully.
Sergio Lub bracelets are made of only solid metals, so there is no plating to chip or wear off. Therefore a scratch or blemish can be buffed out with a simple polishing cloth, or by rubbing a lemon juice/baking soda composite.
If dirt or patina build up, you may enhance cleaning by using a liquid jewelry cleaner on your bracelet, and finish with a jeweler’s cloth to buff your bracelet to a shine. Please note that copper patina is a natural occurring process that varies depending upon exposure to elements.
