Indochinite Tektite | Rough | Indochina

  • $5.00

Indochinite is a type of tektite, a natural glass formed by meteorite impacts, found primarily in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, and China. These dark-colored, usually black or dark brown, glassy objects were created when a meteorite impact melted terrestrial rocks, which then cooled and solidified as they were ejected into the atmosphere. Indochinites are estimated to be around 700,000 to 800,000 years old and are part of the Australasian tektite strewn field, the largest known tektite field on Earth. They are often collected for scientific study and metaphysical purposes.
